Register with a GP

It’s important to register with a local GP when you move to Manchester.

You're free to join any practice you choose, but we’ve put together a list of GPs close to our halls of residence.

You can register via their website before you arrive in Manchester. Make sure you use your University address to register.

Pride in Practice

Of the list above, the following GP Surgeries have a Gold accreditation with Pride in Practice (as of 29 August 2025). Run by the LGBT Foundation, it provides training and accreditation to healthcare professionals in GP practices, dentists, pharmacies and opticians. It ensures that practices effectively and confidently meet the needs of LGBT patients, and that they feel safe, accepted, seen and supported. View the full map.
